Polyetherester Defoamer
Silicone defoamers use dimethyl silicone oil, silica, etc., as active ingredients, compounded with various emulsifiers.
Polyetherester defoamers are prepared by reacting polyether defoamers with
fatty acids or other organic acids. By retaining some functional groups of
polyether defoamers and adding ester groups, they avoid the hydrogen bonding
influence inherent in polyether defoamers. This results in better dispersibility
and longer-lasting foam suppression in specific industries or applications.
Besides the strong foam suppression of polyether defoamers, they are also easier
to disperse.
Depending on industry characteristics, different organic acids are chosen for
esterification. When necessary, they are compounded with other polyethers or
partially hydrolyzed to meet industry or product requirements for defoaming and
foam suppression performance.
