Hasteloy B2 Plate is a high-performance mickel-molybdenum aoy plate, renowned for its exceptional resistance to reducing environments making it a vital matenial inimdustries dealing with ageressive reducing acids. Composed of approximately 28% molybdenum and low carbon (s0.02%6), it efiectively resists corrosion fromconcentrated hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid (im low-oxidation conditions), and other harsh reducing media that would rapidly degrade ordimary metals
This plate 1s widely used m chemcal processimg plants, where it is cu and formed into reactor esels, heat exchanger shels, and storage tank limers that come into dreccontact with corosive fuids at moderate temperatures.Italso finds application im the pharmaceutical imdustry for manfacturing equupment housimgs and componentsubstrates that handle corrosive reducing agents. Mechancally. Hastellov B2 Plate ofers atensile steneth of arund 690 MPa and a vield steneth of310 MPa. providing sulicient durability for heavy-duty industriastnuctures. Cutimg this plate requres specralized tools plasma cutimg or laser cuting is preferred to ensue clean edees and minimize heat-afiected zones that couldcomoromise corosion resistance. Weling, when neded is tvpically done via gas tungsten arc weldine(GTAW with matching Hasteoy B2 filler meta. and post-weldheat treatment mav be necesary to restore full corosion resistance. For proiects demanding reliable perormance in harsh reducimg envronments Hastellov B2 plate is atime-tested and trusted option.
