Hastelloy C-276 Key Features
Versatile Corrosion Resistance:
Hastelloy C-276 performs well in both oxidizing and reducing environments. It offers excellent resistance to wet chlorine, hypochlorites, chlorine dioxide, sulfuric acid in various concentrations, and hydrochloric acid at low and medium temperatures.
Excellent Resistance to Localized Corrosion:
Its high molybdenum and chromium contents provide outstanding resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, particularly in chloride-containing environments.
Excellent Welding Performance:
The very low carbon and silicon contents help minimize carbide precipitation in the weld heat-affected zone. As a result, Hastelloy C-276 can generally be used in the as-welded condition without post-weld heat treatment for most applications.
Good High-Temperature Properties:
Hastelloy C-276 maintains good strength and oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures, with high-temperature performance up to approximately 1000°C–1100°C.
